Lorenz Wendt is a geologist, remote sensing specialist and former expert for the geology of Mars. He has been involved in many applied projects in a humanitarian and development context. They concerned the assistance of groundwater exploration with remote sensing, the mapping of changes of the environment around refugee settlements, or the usage of photogrammetry for improved population estimation in cities. He has worked with MSF, the ICRC, the Austrian Red Cross, and other organizations. His motivation is to help people and organizations to employ satellite image and geospatial data analysis to make better decisions.
